Who we are
The Bavelu app and the website bavelu.com are run by Bavelu s.r.o., Počernická 330/92, Malešice, 108 00 Prague 10, Czech Republic, Company ID (IČO) 301 40 056, registered in the Commercial Register maintained by the Municipal Court in Prague, Section C, File 457873 (“we”, “us”). We are the controller of your personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
For anything about your data, write to info@bavelu.com.
In short
- Your answers, progress and settings are stored on your device, not on our servers.
- Motion data from your AirPods is processed on your device in real time and is never sent to us.
- With your permission, Bavelu writes your finished sessions to Apple Health. It never reads anything from it.
- We don’t sell your data, don’t show ads and don’t use third-party analytics.
What the app processes
Your answers and plan
During onboarding you tell us about yourself – for example your age range, goals, where you feel tension, how flexible you are, how much time you have and when you’d like to be reminded. We use this to put together your daily plan. It is stored on your device only.
Your progress
Which sessions you’ve finished, your streak, your tracking statistics and your favourites are stored on your device only.
Motion data from your AirPods
If you use posture tracking or Motion Stretching, Bavelu reads the motion sensors in your AirPods (with the “Motion & Fitness” permission) to follow how you hold your head. This happens in real time on your device. We keep only what’s needed on the device – the upright position you save during setup and your daily posture statistics. Raw motion data is not stored and never sent to us.
Bluetooth
With the Bluetooth permission, Bavelu notices when your AirPods connect so it can remind you to start tracking. It remembers the identifiers of your AirPods on your device only. It does not scan for or collect information about other devices.
Notifications
Reminders and alerts are scheduled locally on your device. You can turn each kind off in Profile → Notifications, or all of them in iOS Settings.
Apple Health
If you connect Apple Health, Bavelu saves each finished exercise session as a Flexibility workout with an estimate of active energy, and each finished Motion Stretching routine as Mindful Minutes. Bavelu only writes this data; it does not read any data from Apple Health.
Data written to Apple Health stays in Apple Health on your device (and in your iCloud, if you use Health with iCloud). We do not receive it, we do not share it with anyone, and we never use it for advertising, marketing or data mining. You can stop syncing in Profile and manage or delete the data at any time in the Health app (Sharing → Apps → Bavelu).
Exercise content
The app downloads exercise videos, images and texts from our servers. Like any web server, they record technical information about each request – your IP address, the time, the requested file and your device or browser type. We use it only to deliver the content and keep the service secure, and we delete these logs after at most 30 days.
Analytics
Bavelu currently doesn’t use any third-party analytics. During onboarding we ask whether you agree to anonymous usage statistics; if we ever start collecting them, it will only be with that consent, and we will update this policy first.
Subscriptions
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details; we only learn whether your subscription is active.
The website
bavelu.com uses no cookies and no tracking. Our web server keeps the same short-lived technical logs described above.
Legal basis
- Providing the app (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) – your answers and progress, which make your plan work.
- Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) and Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR) – Apple Health, motion data, Bluetooth, notifications and, if ever used, analytics. You give it through the iOS permission prompts and can withdraw it at any time in iOS Settings or the Health app.
- Our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) – technical server logs that keep the service running and secure.
Who else is involved
We don’t sell or rent personal data. We use hosting providers to store and deliver the exercise content and run this website; they process the technical logs on our behalf and under our instructions. Apple provides the App Store, payments, notifications and Apple Health under its own privacy policy.
How long we keep data
Data stored on your device stays there until you log out in the app (which erases it) or delete the app. Server logs are deleted after at most 30 days.
Your rights
You have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. As most of your data is stored only on your device, you can erase it yourself by logging out or deleting the app. For anything else, write to info@bavelu.com.
You can also lodge a complaint with the Czech data protection authority – the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů), Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Prague 7, uoou.gov.cz.
Children
Bavelu is not intended for children under 16, and we don’t knowingly process their data.
Health notice
Bavelu offers general exercises and posture reminders. It is not a medical device and does not replace advice from a doctor or physiotherapist. If you feel pain during an exercise, stop.
Changes
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
